Spotlight on History
Louisiana Music
As the calendar turns to April and springtime is in the air, Louisianans get ready to attend music festivals around the state. In honor of the Baton Rouge Blues Festival (April 14th-15th), Festival International de Louisiane in Lafayette (April 25th-29th), and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (April 27th-May 6th), the LDMA is highlighting Louisiana music in April. Louisiana is home to diverse musical genres, including Blues, Country, Cajun, Jazz, R & B, Opera, and Zydeco. See LPB’s interviews through the years with the talented musicians from around the state who share Louisiana music with the world.
