This nativity story was filmed in 1943 in Alexandria, Louisiana, as a partnership between the First United Methodist Church of Alexandria and the Seventh Signal Field Photographic Laboratory at nearby Camp Livingston during World War II. Several members of the unit worked in Hollywood and they were able to write, produce, and direct the movie. While the role of Joseph was played by Sergeant Don Porter, all of the other parts were played by church members. The movie was shot at various locations around Alexandria, Louisiana.
