This episode of the series “Behind the Glory” from October 19, 2023, features Lyn Rollins’ interview with Lori Lyons, a 2023 winner of the Distinguished Service Award in Sports Journalism at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. Lyons, a native of Houma, worked as the sports reporter for the River Parishes Bureau of the Times-Picayune newspaper in New Orleans and served as the president of the Louisiana Sports Writers’ Association. She discusses: having no female role models in sports writing; covering high school sports in the River Parishes; and teaching journalism at Riverside Academy in Reserve.
