This episode of the series “Behind the Glory” from October 26, 2023, features Lyn Rollins’ interview with Ron Washington, a 2023 inductee into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. Washington, a native of New Orleans, played Major League Baseball for ten seasons and has served as a coach and manager for several teams, including his current role as the third base coach for the Atlanta Braves. He discusses: growing up in the Desire Projects in New Orleans; his playing career; the start of his coaching career; his portrayal in the “Moneyball” movie; being one pitch away from winning the World Series for two consecutive seasons during his stint as manager with the Texas Rangers; winning the World Series with the Atlanta Braves in 2021; and his hopes for another MLB manager job in the future.
