This episode of the series “Behind the Glory” from April 4, 2024, features Lyn Rollins’ interview with Walter Davis, a 2023 inductee into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. Davis, a native of Leonville, Louisiana, won six NCAA national championships at LSU from 2001-2002, won world championships in indoor and outdoor track, and competed in the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. He discusses: basketball as his first love; his move to track and field in high school; his decision to attend LSU; his events, the triple jump and long jump; his memories of winning the world indoor championship in 2006; making the Olympic team; and the influence of his parents.
