Description
In this episode of the series “Enviro-Tacklebox” from October 27, 1999, host Greg Grandy explores the importance of exercise and physical fitness. Grandy highlights endurance, strength, and flexibility exercises. He visits Michael Welsch, a sports physiologist, at his sports kinesiology lab as he studies what happens to a person’s body as they exercise. Grandy also interviews: Shelly Ripple, a world class swimmer and student at Parkview Baptist High School in Baton Rouge; Chanda Rubin, a professional tennis player from Lafayette; Johnnie Moyal, the gymnastics coach at Elite Gymnastics in Baton Rouge; and several of the gymnasts at Elite Gymnastics, including future Olympic Gold medalist Carly Patterson.
