This segment from the December 15, 1985, episode of the series “Folks” features Rob Hinton’s visit to a conference in New Orleans on the history of the Free Southern Theater, an African American theater group that toured the South from 1963-1980 and was connected with the Civil Rights Movement. He interviews co-founders John O’Neal and Doris Derby. It also features a clip of a touring group from the Black Liberated Arts Center in Oklahoma City performing O’Neal’s play, “Where is the Blood of Your Fathers?”
