This segment from the November 6, 1988, episode of the series “Folks” features Mark Sindler’s visit to the “A Tribute to Excellence” art exhibit at the Masur Museum of Art in Monroe, Louisiana. The exhibit features the work of twenty-two Louisiana artists who have received Louisiana Division of the Arts Fellowships since 1980. He interviews: William Pratt, the director of the Masur Museum of Art; Derek Gordon, the executive director of the Louisiana Division of the Arts; William Kitchens, an artist from New Orleans; Edwin Pinkston, an artist from Ruston; Douglas MacCash, an artist from New Orleans; Christopher Johns, an artist from Baton Rouge; and Rancy Boyd-Snee, an artist from Baton Rouge.
