Description

This episode of the series “En Francais” from March 7, 1982, features Philippe Gustin’s visit to the Manresa House of Retreats, a Jesuit retreat center in Convent, Louisiana. He interviews Eugene Bleakley, who discusses the history of the retreat center. James Fontenot then interviews Barry Ancelet, the director of the Center for Acadian and Francophone Studies at the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, and Tonisse Faul of Sunset, Louisiana. Ancelet discusses Cajun folklore and Faul, a Cajun storyteller, shares some of his stories. This episode was preserved through a 2018 CLIR Recordings at Risk Grant.
