This episode of the series “En Francais” from February 27, 1983, features the second part of “La Cheniere Au Tigre,” a documentary about a small island off the coast of Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, that was devastated by hurricanes. It includes interviews with: J. Oreo White; Joseph “Boulet” Broussard; Dr. Walter Sagrera; Murphy “Red” Sellers; and Andrew Jackson Sagrera. James Fontenot then interviews Linda Robertson, a French teacher at Bolton High School in Alexandria, Louisiana, and her student, Jan Clayton. Robertson shares her thoughts on improving the teaching of foreign languages in Louisiana schools. This episode was preserved through a 2018 CLIR Recordings at Risk Grant.
