This episode of the series “En Francais” from October 2, 1983, features Amanda LaFleur’s report from Festivals Acadiens in Lafayette, Louisiana. Her report features highlights of the music, food, and arts and crafts available at the festival. It also includes highlights of the official twinning of the Acadian Village in Lafayette and the Acadian Historical Village in Caraquet, New Brunswick, Canada. LaFleur also interviews Pete Bergeron and Randy Broussard of KRVS-FM in Lafayette, as well as Bruce Daigrepont of the Cajun band Bourré. This episode was preserved through a 2018 CLIR Recordings at Risk Grant.
