This episode of the series “En Francais” from December 23, 1984, features Rene Bechard’s visit to the Christmas Comes Alive celebration at the Acadian Village in Lafayette, Louisiana. Bechard interviews: A.J. LeBlanc, the director of Acadian Village; Ovi Broussard; Rosie Reed, an organizer of the event; and Cindy Young of the Junior League of Lafayette. It also includes Ovi Broussard recounting the “Cajun Night Before Christmas” and performances of Christmas carols by the Acadiana Barbershop Chorus and the St. Thomas Moore High School Chorus. This episode was preserved through a 2018 CLIR Recordings at Risk Grant.
