Description
This episode of the series “En Francais” from November 26, 1989, features the first part of a presentation of Le Theatre Cadien’s production of “Le Derniere Quilte.” The story centers on the making of a wedding band quilt to celebrate a couple’s spring wedding. The decisions they make and their interaction with their Vermilion Parish neighbors provide an intimate look at post-Depression south Louisiana. Le Theatre Cadien is a local theater group in Lafayette, Louisiana, that produces and performs plays in the Cajun French dialect. This episode was preserved through a 2018 CLIR Recordings at Risk Grant.
