Description

This episode of the “Great American Seafood Cookoff” features highlights from the 2014 competition held at the Louisiana Foodservice Expo in New Orleans. Eighteen chefs from around the country compete to create the best seafood dish using the seafood indigenous to their states. The competitors are: Chef Gary Hawkins of Mississippi; Chef Aaron Burgau of Louisiana; Chef David Bancroft of Alabama; Chef Terry White of Florida; Chef Larry Delgado of Texas; Chef Matthew Schnooberger of New Mexico; Chef Barton Phillips of Missouri; Chef Timothy Harris of Pennsylvania; Chef Mark Ballen of Idaho; Chef Briar Handly of Utah; Chef Jeffery Wierzbicki of New Jersey; Chef Danny Smith of South Carolina; Chef Zizhao Luo of New York; Chef Lee Gregory of Virginia; Chef Michael Lee of North Carolina; Chef Michael Buckley of New Hampshire; Chef Mandy Dixon of Alaska; and Chef Christopher Holen of Oregon. This episode also includes interviews with: Jay Ducote, celebrity host; Anthony Anderson, celebrity host; Steve Green of #foodiechats, judge; Susie Selby of Selby Winery, judge; Kris Moon of the James Beard Foundation, judge; Brian West of the Culinary Institute of America, judge; Chef Ben Pollinger of Oceana New York, judge; and Barbara Mathias of Food Arts, judge. It also includes interviews with the chefs describing their dishes. Chef Terry White of Florida is named the winner of the competition and crowned the “King of American Seafood.”
