Description
This segment from the January 13, 2017, episode of the series “Art Rocks!” features producer Dorothy Kendrick’s report on the Louisiana A+ Schools program of the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts, which helps schools integrate arts education across their curriculum. Kendrick visits Bains Lower Elementary School in St. Francisville, Louisiana, to see the program in action. She interviews: Andrea Mathis, the principal at Bains Lower Elementary School; Sarah Rachal, teacher; Jacques Rodrigue and Bethany France of the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts; Superintendent Hollis Milton of the West Feliciana Parish Schools; and Betsie Levasseur and Liz Halep, parents. Host James Fox-Smith also interviews Jacques Rodrigue in the studio. Rodrigue discusses the Louisiana A+ Schools program and its impact on students.
