This segment from the 2008 Louisiana Legends Gala features a profile and a speech by retired Lieutenant General John Spencer Hardy accepting his recognition as a Louisiana Legend. Hardy, a native of Logansport, served in the United States Air Force from 1935-1970. As the chief of operations for the United States Army Air Corps in the Mediterranean during World War II, he participated in the planning for air offenses against southern Europe, the Balkans, and the Allied landings in southern France.
