This segment from the 2018 Louisiana Legends Gala features a profile and speech by Ted Jones accepting his recognition as a Louisiana Legend. Jones, a native of Tifton, Georgia, and a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, is an attorney, the former chief lobbyist for the State of Louisiana in Washington, D.C., and the chairman of the Mystick Krewe of Louisianans, the organizers of the Washington Mardi Gras Ball. He is also a guitar player and former member of Governor Jimmie Davis’ band. His profile includes interviews with: Michael Jones, his cousin; Ted Jones, Jr., his son; Randy Haynie, his colleague and friend; and Ronnie Hebert, his colleague and friend. After Jones’ speech, First Lady Donna Edwards reads a proclamation honoring the Louisiana Legends honorees.
