A speech by Patrick Mulhearn before the Baton Rouge Press Club on August 11, 2014. Mulhearn is the executive director of the Celtic Media Center in Baton Rouge. He discusses: the history of Louisiana’s film industry; how tax credits have changed the industry; the development of a film infrastructure; the Celtic Media Center; and the movies and television shows that have been shot in the state. He also talks about the reasons for keeping a strong film industry in Louisiana, including diversifying the economy, reversing the brain drain, and the increase in tourism and exposure to the state.
