Members of the press then ask the candidates questions on the following topics: the impact of Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne’s endorsement of Edwards; the negative tone of the campaign; Edwards’ campaign ad claiming Vitter “Chose Prostitutes Over Patriots”; their plans for calling a Special Session of the Legislature to deal with the state budget; changing dedicated funds and tax credits within the state budget; strengthening the Board of Regents; reforming criminal sentencing; Edwards’ voting record; and their position on the Paycheck Protection Act and Right to Work. The debate ends with each candidate’s closing statement.
