A speech by Secretary of State Tom Schedler before the Baton Rouge Press Club on October 10, 2016. He discusses: his expectations for voter turnout on Election Day on November 8th; the relocation of sixty-five voting precincts in Ascension, East Baton Rouge, and Livingston Parishes due to the historic flooding in south Louisiana; the GeauxVote app; and the unpredictable election cycle. Along with Wendy Rodrigue, Andre Rodrigue, and Jacques Rodrigue, Secretary Schedler also unveils the Louisiana “I Voted” stickers featuring George Rodrigue’s Blue Dog. Wendy Rodrigue, George’s widow, and Jacques Rodrigue, George’s son and the executive director of the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts, then discuss George Rodrigue’s legacy, his foundation, and their collaboration with the Secretary of State’s Office on the “I Voted” stickers.
