Description
This program from October 23, 1992, features Robert Collins leading a panel discussion on the constitutional amendment proposals put forth by the 1992 Constitutional Convention. The panelists are: State Representative Raymond Jetson; Harold Suire, the president of the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL); State Senator Jay Dardenne; Fred Skelton of the Louisiana Federation of Teachers (LFT); and Mike Deshotels of the Louisiana Association of Educators (LAE). They discuss: the package of twelve constitutional amendments on the statewide ballot; the controversial clause allowing the Legislature to cut 10% from dedicated funds in order to balance the state budget; and LFT and LAE’s concerns about possible cuts to K-12 funding.
