Description
This episode of the series “Louisiana Public Square” from February 25, 2009, features Craig Freeman leading a discussion between the audience members and panelists on economic development in Louisiana. A background report on the topic precedes the discussion. It includes interviews with: Secretary Stephen Moret of the Louisiana Department of Economic Development (LED); Bastrop Mayor Clarence Hawkins; Dr. Robert Eisenstadt, an associate professor of economics at the University of Louisiana-Monroe; Tana Trichel of the Northeast Louisiana Economic Alliance; State Senator Mike Walsworth; and Stewart Ewing, Jr., of CenturyTel. The audience members then discuss: the state of the economy in North Louisiana; the importance of job training at the high school level; and workforce re-training.
