Description

In this episode from the “New Orleans Cuisine” series of “Savor the Regions” from October 11, 1997, Nutritional Chef Kelly Patrick prepares dishes centered around Italian Cuisine. Chef Patrick puts a health twist on popular Louisiana Dishes. She first prepares Crawfish Pappardella with Tomato Bruschetta. Next, Chef Patrick visits Central Grocery, a famous Italian grocery store in New Orleans, and learns how to make a muffuletta. Then, Chef Patrick heads back to the kitchen to cook Vegetarian Pesto Lasagna, a Healthy Muffuletta, and an Italian Antipasto plate. Finally, Chef Patrick speaks with, guest, Dr. Make Lefebvre about dietary fats, cholesterol, and heart health. This program was preserved through a 2022-2023 Public Broadcasting Preservation Fellowship.
