This segment from the September 28, 1984, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Robyn Ekings presenting highlights from Governor Edwin Edwards’ recent press conference in response to two possible federal investigations. Governor Edwards first discusses a recent WBRZ-TV report naming him as the target of an IRS investigation related to his involvement in the settlement of a lawsuit against Texaco and the subsequent firing by the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources of a private auditing firm that monitors Texaco’s payment of royalties to the State of Louisiana.
