This segment from the November 2, 1984, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Ken Johnson’s report on the upcoming presidential election between President Ronald Reagan, a Republican, and former Vice President Walter Mondale, a Democrat. Johnson reports that neither candidate visited Louisiana. He interviews Lane Carson of the Reagan campaign and Michael Bagneris of the Mondale campaign, who both discuss why they think their candidate will win in Louisiana. Johnson also visits both Louisiana campaign headquarters, where he interviews Darlene Richmon and Suzy Voye, two Reagan supporters, and Nick Celona and Reverend Donald Crockett, two Mondale supporters.
