Long served Louisiana’s 8th Congressional District from 1963-1965 and 1973-1985. Her report includes highlights of President Ronald Reagan announcing the death of Congressman Long following his inauguration. It also includes highlights from Long’s funeral in Alexandria, including the eulogies by United States Senator Russell Long, Governor Edwin Edwards, Congresswoman Lindy Boggs, and Speaker of the House Tip O’Neill, as well as United States Congressional Delegate Walter E.
