This segment from the September 13, 1985, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Ken Johnson’s look back at the life and times of Governor Earl Long in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of his death. Long, the younger brother of Huey P. Long, served as Louisiana’s 45th Governor from 1939-1940, 1948-1952, and 1956-1960. It includes interviews with: former Governor John McKeithen; Eck Bozeman, Long family friend; former Lieutenant Governor Bill Dodd; Blanche Long, his wife; former Secretary of State Wade O. Martin, Jr.; and State Senator B.B. “Sixty” Rayburn.
