She interviews: Lawrence Narcisse of the Louisiana Association of Educators; State Representative Buddy Leach; State Representative B.F. O’Neal; C.J. Blache of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI); and Victor Bussie of the Louisiana AFL-CIO. Next, Hinton conducts an in-studio interview with Mark Drennen, the new president of the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana (PAR). He discusses: the Governor’s proposed state budget; PAR’s recommendation for reforming the revenue estimating process; budget reform as a top priority; the state of the economy; PAR’s recommendations for establishing a mineral stabilization fund and retirement reform; the AFL-CIO’s wage tax proposal; and education funding. Hinton then reports on a teacher rally sponsored by the Louisiana Federation of Teachers (LFT) that was held on the steps of the State Capitol. It includes highlights of the speeches given by: Fred Skelton of LFT; Nat LaCour of the United Teachers of New Orleans; and Governor Edwin Edwards. He also interviews: Virginia Budd, president of the Louisiana Association of Educators; Pat Dean, a teacher from Baton Rouge; and Delores Wilmore, a teacher from New Orleans.
