Description
This segment from the March 4, 1988, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Roger Sockman’s report on the latest activity with Governor-Elect Buddy Roemer’s transition team. He first reports on the State Ethics Commission Hearing on the $9,000 a month salary paid to Interim Commissioner of Administration Brian Kendrick from the Roemer Transition Team. It includes highlights of Governor Edwin Edwards’ testimony at the hearing and an interview with Governor-Elect Roemer on the Commission’s approval of Kendrick receiving a salary from the transition team instead of the state. Sockman also reports on the final recommendations made by the transition team’s panels on higher education, the reorganization of state government, and vo-tech schools.
