This segment from the January 7, 1994, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Jeff Duhe’s report on the potential impacts of gambling in Louisiana. He first visits Biloxi, Mississippi, to learn more about the impact of casino gambling on their Gulf Coast community and interviews David Nichols, Biloxi development director. Next, he visits Lafayette and reports on the local movement dedicated to stopping the expansion of gambling in Lafayette Parish. He interviews Don Bacque, a former state representative, and Gene Fortier, the former president of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce.
