This segment from the February 25, 1994, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Jeff Duhe’s report on the first Special Session of the Louisiana Legislature of 1994. Duhe reports that the week-long session was called because of a state budget shortfall in the Department of Public Safety and Corrections due to a miscalculation in the amount of money needed to pay local sheriffs for housing inmates.
