This segment from the January 20, 1995, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Robert Collins’ report on the Congressional hearing on funding for the Corporation of Public Broadcasting (CPB), the agency that provides federal funding to public television and public radio stations around the country. It includes highlights of the comments by: Congressman Bob Livingston of Louisiana; Congressman David Obey of Wisconsin; Congressman Joel Hefley of Colorado; Congressman Sherwood Boehlert of New York; Congressman Dana Rohrabacher of California; Congressman Roger Wicker of Mississippi; and Congresswoman Nita Lowey of New York. He also interviews Homer Dyess, LPB’s director of educational services, who discusses the educational programs provided by LPB. Collins then conducts an in-studio interview with Beth Courtney, the president and CEO of Louisiana Public Broadcasting, who discusses her testimony at the Congressional hearing.
