Description
This segment from the November 21, 2008, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s visit to the village of Fisher, a company town built by the Louisiana Long Leaf Lumber Company in 1899 to support the workers at the saw mill. Whinham talks to Fisher Mayor Susan Slay about the origin of the village’s name, its history, and her hopes for its future.
