Description

This segment from the April 10, 2009, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Donna LaFleur’s profile of the Carlow Choir in central Louisiana. LaFleur talks to Choir Director John De Chiaro about the formation of the choir in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina, the opening of the Louisiana chapter, the origins of the choir’s name, its unique sound, and their plans for future performances. LaFleur also speaks to choir members Sandy Corley, Fred Cull, Will Bollich, Diane Lawton, and Pam NesSmith about why they joined the choir, the diverse backgrounds of the members, and their recent concert tour in Italy, including singing for the Pope at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
