Description
This segment from the March 5, 2010, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s visit to Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport, the former site of the South Park Mall. He talks to Pastor Robert Masteller about why the church decided to relocate to a former shopping mall and the conversion of the J.C. Penney’s store into the church’s main sanctuary. Whinham also tours the site with Associate Pastor Charles Reynolds on a golf cart. He also attends choir practice with Worship Pastor Jason Easley and speaks to church members Pete Smith and Tammy Smith about their experience at the church.
