Description
This segment from the May 14, 2010, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Donna LaFleur’s interview with artist Hunt Slonem at his plantation retreat in Jeanerette. Slonem discusses: his early connections to Louisiana; his purchase of Albania Plantation in Jeanerette in 2004; his work in restoring and furnishing the home; and the themes of his paintings. LaFleur also previews Slonem’s show inspired by Bayou Teche called “On the Bayou” at the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum in Lafayette with Mark Tullos and Lee Gray, the museum’s director and curator.
