This segment from the July 16, 2010, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features the week’s headlines from the ongoing BP Oil Spill. These stories include an update on BP’s progress in capping the oil well and performing pressure tests, as well as oceanographer Jean-Michel Cousteau talking to the PBS NewsHour’s Hari Sreenivasan about his survey of the oil spill damage and its effect on marine life. Charlie Whinham also reports on the Consulate General of France in New Orleans hosting a Bastille Day Celebration, where they bestowed five Louisiana World War II veterans with the French Legion of Honor for their contributions to the liberation of France.
