This segment from the December 10, 2010, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Donna LaFleur’s visit to a taping of National Public Radio’s “From the Top” on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. She interviews: Jennifer Hurley-Wales, the executive producer, on the show celebrating young classical musicians around the country; Laurence Kaptain of the LSU College of Music and Dramatics Arts on the show’s host Christopher O’Riley, a concert pianist and a distinguished visiting artist at LSU; Terry Patrick Harris of the LSU School of Music on helping her student, Jennifer Seidel, audition for the show; and Jennifer Seidel on her upcoming performance on the show. This report also includes highlights from the performances of Jennifer Tu of New Orleans, Marcus Rose of Shreveport, Jennifer Seidel of Baton Rouge, and the Red Hot Brass Band from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA).
