Description
This segment from the July 8, 2011, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Sue Lincoln’s report on the U.S. Department of Education naming four Louisiana universities as the most affordable in the country: the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL), LSU-Shreveport, the University of New Orleans, and Southern University in New Orleans. She interviews Dr. Joseph Savioe, the president of ULL, and Commissioner of Higher Education Jim Purcell, who discuss the report and the impact of recent tuition increases on the affordability of the universities.
