Description
This segment from the September 2, 2011, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features a report by Bill Capo of WWL-TV on the Louisiana National Guard’s role as the leader of Task Force Bon Voizen (Good Neighbor), the United States military’s rebuilding efforts in Haiti following the devastating 2010 earthquake. Capo follows Major General Bennett Landreneau, the commander of the Louisiana National Guard, and Major General Mike Edwards, the commander of the Colorado National Guard, as they tour Haiti and meet with the National Guard members serving on the Task Force. Capo also interviews Colonel Kenneth Donnelly, First Sergeant Johnny Young, and Captain David Haydel, who discuss the devastation in Haiti and their rebuilding efforts. Host: Charlie Whinham
