This segment from the April 13, 2012, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Shauna Sanford’s interview with Garret Graves of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority on the environmental impact of the 2010 BP Oil Spill. Graves discusses the continuing clean-up efforts almost two years after the spill, BP’s refusal to install long-term monitoring equipment in the Gulf of Mexico, the difficulty in spotting oil in the wetlands, the rigorous seafood testing, the loss of wetlands and wildlife due to the spill, and the one million barrels of oil that remain unidentified in the Gulf of Mexico.
