Description
This segment from the May 4, 2012, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Donna LaFleur’s visit to the Alexandria Zoological Park. She talks to zoo director Leann Whitt about the zoo’s natural landscaping and an upcoming major renovation project for the Land of the Jaguar exhibit. LaFleur also speaks to zookeeper Laura Yerky about the history of the zoo’s two Louisiana black bears, Mike and Emily. She also interviews general curator Lisa Laskoski about the zoo’s participation in the Red Wolf Recovery Program and the unique characteristics of the red wolf.
