Description
This segment from the August 10, 2012, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Shauna Sanford’s report on the findings of a recent Louisiana Budget Project report on the state’s film industry tax credit program, which shows that the state is giving away more money than it generates through the program. Sanford also leads an in-studio panel discussion on the topic with the following guests: Tim Mathis of the Louisiana Budget Project; David Tatman of the Louisiana Film and Entertainment Association; Chris Stelly of the Entertainment Division of the Department of Economic Development; and Joe Chrest, an actor working in Louisiana. They discuss whether the tax credit program should be reformed or eliminated and the economic impact of the film industry in Louisiana.
