This segment from the March 22, 2013, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s report on Governor Bobby Jindal’s first visit to the 13-acre site of the Bayou Corne sinkhole in Assumption Parish. Whinham reports that Texas Brine, the company responsible for the sinkhole, began offering buyouts to the 350 residents forced to evacuate their homes. This report includes highlights of Governor Jindal meeting with residents, as well as a press conference with Governor Jindal, Assumption Parish President Marty Triche, and Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack.
