This segment from the September 6, 2013, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Charlie Whinham’s report on Asian Tiger Shrimp, an invasive species that has been spotted in the Gulf of Mexico since 2007. He reports that shrimpers and researchers are concerned that the tiger shrimp will out compete the native white and brown shrimp for resources and possibly transmit diseases.
