Description
This segment from the July 14, 2017, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Kelly Spires’ report on the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) releasing twenty diamondback terrapins back into the wild at Chenier Ronquille, a recently restored barrier island near Grand Isle. Spires interviews: Keri Landry, an endangered species biologist at LDWF; Donna Rogers, the project manager for the Chenier Ronquille restoration for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA); and Rachael Creech and Steven Creech, the owners of Adventure Pets in Mandeville, who housed the terrapins during the year before their release.
