Description
This segment from the August 4, 2017, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features producer Kevin Gautreaux’s report on the work of Our H.O.M.E., a veterans service organization headquartered in northeast Louisiana. Gautreaux meets with a group of volunteers from Our H.O.M.E. as they build a wheelchair ramp and deck for a Vietnam veteran who lost his home during the August 2016 floods in Denham Springs. He interviews: John Johnson, Vietnam veteran and homeowner; Andrew Yarbrough, Our H.O.M.E. founder; Hakeem Jackson, veteran and volunteer; and Chris Simons, veteran and volunteer.
