This segment from the February 15, 2019, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Andre Moreau’s visit to the Pointe-aux-Chenes Wildlife Management Area in lower Terrebonne Parish. He reports that 150 volunteers planted more than 1,000 bald cypress tree seedlings for a coastal restoration project. Moreau interviews Sidney Coffee of America’s Wetland Foundation, who discusses the public-private partnership that made the project possible, the importance of these transitional projects, and the unique opportunity to get the public involved with coastal restoration.
