This segment from the July 19, 2019, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Andre Moreau’s report on the legacy of Sadie Roberts-Joseph, a community activist and founder of the Odell S. Williams Now and Then African American Museum in Baton Rouge. Roberts-Joseph was murdered on July 12th at age 75. Moreau interviews: Pat McAllister-LeDuff, her niece; East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome; and Fairleigh Jackson, the executive director of Preserve Louisiana. This report also includes excerpts from a 2004 LPB interview with Roberts-Joseph.
