This segment from the February 12, 2021, episode of the series “Louisiana: The State We’re In” features Kara St. Cyr’s report on the important role played by African American churches during the Civil Rights Movement in Louisiana. She focuses on Mt. Zion First Baptist Church in Baton Rouge and the 1953 Baton Rouge Bus Boycott and Pleasant Green Baptist Church in St. Francisville and a voter registration effort in West Feliciana Parish.
